The Museum currently has a small shop which can be seen at most events which currently consists of donated items of books, magazines and photographic prints of local and international photograph. The museum are currently looking into museum branded items such a T-Shirts, hats, ties, pens and other items.

 

The museum shall look at investing in a larger shop once the museum has found more permanent premises.

Merchandise and Souvenir Versions

G-Plate and Sign

 

Based on the original G shaped builders plate and original signed that was featured on the rear wall of the Bristol Road, Gloucester Works. The museum have had these slightly re-designed to include the wording "Museum" in a style to match the originals.

5th Anniversary Shield 

 

2021 marks the 5th birthday of the Museum and to celebrate this, the Museum have had a special design in the form of a shield created to be featured on a range of merchandise and souvenirs. 

80th Anniversary of the Churchill Tank

 

2021 marks the 80th anniversary since the first production Churchill Tanks were delivered in June 1941 and to mark this occasion the Museum have commissioned a special  and unique design to be featured on a range of merchandise. 

 

The Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company itself manufactured a total of 764 Churchill Tanks throughout the duration of the Second World War ranging from Mark I-IV and VII & VIII.

BR Early Crest "Cycling Lion" Deeley Dock Tank (1948-1956)

 

The Midland Railway 0-4-0T 1528 Class, more commonly known as the Deeley Dock Tank were built in 1907, 1921 to 1922. Designed for shunting purposes and designed by Richard Deeley, this small class of 10 locomotives worked all over the network with a total of 5 of the class being used in Gloucester during 1948-1963. These locomotives were once a common site in Gloucester Docks including the sidings between the Wagon Works and Fielding and Platt. Below is a list of those locomotives which were seen in Gloucester during the early BR period along with their respective date:

 

41530 (formerly LMS 1530) - c.1948-57

41533 (formerly LMS 1533) - c.1951-52

41534 (formerly LMS 1534) - c.1955

41537 (formerly LMS 1537) - c.1948-63

1391 "Fox"

 

ex-GWR 0-4-0ST Works No.913 of 1872, No. 1391 "Fox" was built by the Bristol based Avonside Engine Company in 1872 and was acquired by the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in July 1912. In March 1948, "Fox" was sent to John Cashmore Limited of Newport for Scrap.  The Museum has commissioned a commemorative range of merchandise to ensure the memory of 1391 "Fox" lives on.

"Henry Wright" and employees

 

Manning Wardle 0-4-0ST Works No.1501 of 1900 was acquired new in 1900 by the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company. 1501 of 1900 was named after a former Company Chairman "Henry Wright". In 1937 the locomotive was sent to A.R. Adams and Son of Newport, Monmouthshire for scrapping. 

 

The photograph used on this collection of merchandise is owned by the Stapleton family who's ancestors worked at the Wagon Works with one relation being featured in this photo, second from right and received recognition for long service on the 19th July 1950. 

 

The Museum have been given permission by the Stapleton family to use this image as part of its merchandise and souvenir collection.
